Re: The Chemical Society of the South Pacific (CSSP) National Titration Competition 2014
Date & Venue for Finals: 4th October 2014, USP Campuses
On behalf of CSSP, I would like to invite your school to participate in this year’s Titration competition.
This competition has been a yearly event on the CSSP calendar. The purpose of the titration competition is to facilitate students to test their skills, knowledge, meet students of other schools but on the whole to have some excitement and experience the sensation of chemistry through this competition. Unfortunately, we can only allow a single competitor from every school in each division. Nevertheless, this makes the competition very competitive.
Please find attached the letter together with the registration form. Titration Comp 2014
The competition for the different zones will be held on Saturday, the 21st of June 2014 at the following venues:
Central/Southern Zone: USP Chemistry Labs, Laucala Campus, Suva
Western Zone: Nadi Muslim College, Nadi and Xavier College, Ba
Northern Zone: Labasa SKM College, Labasa
Senior Division (Form 6) 10.00 – 12.00 p.m. (2 hrs)
Advanced Division (Form 7) 1.00 – 4.00 p.m. (3 hrs)
The experiment for this competition is selected in accordance with the Ministry of Education curriculum. As this is a competition, we expect students to know a bit more than what is required in the syllabus.
Form 6: Acid/Base (application)
Form 7: Redox Titration (application).
The competition has an entry fee of $2.00/participant and will be collected on the day of the competition. Filled Registration Form must reach the following address on or before Friday, June 6th, 2014 by fax or email.
Looking forward to your school’s participation.
Mr. Thomas Tunidau
National Titration Competition Coordinator – 2014
